Description: Recall: 1998 Lincoln Navigator Component: INTERIOR SYSTEMS:PASSIVE RESTRAINT:AIR BAG NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 98V148000 Manufacturer: FORD MOTOR COMPANY Potential Number of Units Affected: 91600Summary: Vehicle Description: Light duty pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles. These vehicles were produced with a sun visor air bag warning label and a utility vehicle label, both affixed to the same sun visor side. This does not meet the requirements of FMVSS No. 208, "Occupant Crash Protection." See note. Ford has not submitted a corrective action for this recall. The manufacturer is petitioning NHTSA for a determination that this matter is inconsequential with respect to motor vehicle safety. The manufacturer is not obligated to conduct an owner notification and remedy campaign until NHTSA has resolved that the matter is consequential.
