Description: Now that the temperatures are rising right along with that urge to skip town, it's time to start seriously thinking about planning your summer vacation. Whether it's a weekend getaway or an extended holiday, traveling by car can be an economical and adventurous option to consider. I know from personal experience that family vacations can create quite a financial toll on family budgets. A fun and less expensive alternative is to pack the kids (and perhaps the pets too) in a car and head off for a week to some great American landmarks. Or take off for a romantic bed-and-breakfast getaway with your significant other. Better yet, grab a few of your best girlfriends and set off in a rented convertible for a wild weekend across state lines! Whatever you choose to do, this is where you'll find out how to do it the right way. In this series of articles entitled "ROAD RULZ" I will take a look at road trips from A-Z. You're sure to find something to tickle your fancy, no matter if you're an expert traveler or a first-timer. And for all those self-proclaimed seasoned veterans, there will be a pop quiz to test your Road IQ against me, the designated "road warrior"! In the next few weeks, I hope to embark on a journey of our own, drawing from my own personal experiences on the open road. Some stories will be quite humorous, some insightful, some seriously demented, but all filled with helpful information you can take away as you plan your own unique adventure.
