Description: Comfort Rating: Performance Rating: Quality Rating: Appearance Rating: Favorite Feature: Front wheel drive. You just can't get around reliably in this area in winter in a rear wheel drive car. Least Favorite Feature: The problems mentioned in the test drive review and the turning radius but it's not bad for front wheel drive Advice to Buyer: All in all it was a good buy. I would recomend the euro rails and steel crash bar for the cargo area if you transport alot of stuff for vactions etc. Detailed Review: Typical euro-firm ride. Predictable handling and ample power for 90% of our daily driving, although my wife would probably say it's fine for 100% of hers. (This is a non turbo model) Car seems to get 25 mpg under all driving conditions. Bought the car used in late Feb '99 which, according to a title search, was very close to its 1st birthday. It had 9,800 miles on it and as of 8/14/99 we have put an additional 11,000 miles on with no major problems. The only two issues we have with the vehicle so far are as follows. The housing for the driver seat memory and adjustment controls keeps breaking. The controls still work fine but the housing breaks loose from it's mount on the seat. There seems to be a clearance problem with the housing and the floor pan. The other issue is the front end creaks when the car is in a hard turn at low speeds, i.e when you need to crank the wheel to get into a parking space etc. This is usually accompanied by and extra fraction or two of turning in the steering wheel. This is something that started well after we bought the car. We are hoping to get it fixed when the car goes in for its 20K mile service next week.
