Description: Overall Rating: Comfort Rating: Performance Rating: Quality Rating: Appearance Rating: Favorite Feature: Auto-theft Least Favorite Feature: Fit and finish Advice to Buyer: Look to Honda or Toyota Detailed Review: We went with the Quest for a number of reasons: 1. the motor and drivetrain are the proven Maxima line 2. Nissan's claim to offer better customer service. While we like the vehicle (comfort, performance and looks) we have been plagued by problems and poor service: 1. the automatic transmission failed within 3 years - fixed. 2. the driver's door rattled - numerous attempts to fix it made it worse. Finally I got a small autobody shop to stop the rattle but the door has been hard to close since then - it was obviously out of true but Nissan never wanted to admit it. I even tried to get them to buy it back! 3. remote door lock system - failed twice - fixed 4. fuel pump failed - fixed 5. wind noise, rattle in passenger sliding door - somewhat better 6. back-up lights failed - replaced and other small annoyances. Based on the above if anyone suggests Nissan we 'Just say no.' Vehicle Purchased: 1996 Nissan Quest Reviewer Information: Location - OTTAWA, Ontario |
