Description: IRVINE, Calif. - June 9, 1999 - Autobytel.com (Nasdaq:ABTL), the leader in automotive e-commerce and services, has entered into an agreement with Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO) to offer thousands of high-quality Certified Pre-Owned vehicles for sale through Yahoo!® Autos (), a comprehensive, free roadmap for researching, buying, selling and finding information on maintaining new and used cars in one central place on the Web. In a recent survey of e-commerce brand awareness by Opinion Research Corporation, Autobytel.com ranked seventh among e-commerce brands. The agreement with Yahoo! Autos increases Autobytel.com's stake in the $370 billion pre-owned vehicle market, which currently includes the Autobytel.com Pre-Owned CyberStore and Wholesale.autobytel.com, the company's dealer-to-dealer pre-owned vehicle auction service. "Yahoo! is clearly a leading resource for consumers on the Internet, and Autobytel.com is pleased to bring a vast selection of high-quality, pre-owned vehicles to Yahoo!'s millions of users," said Anne Benvenuto, senior vice president of marketing for Autobytel.com. "Through our relationship with Yahoo! Autos, we are extending the choices we offer consumers as they shop for their next car." "We are proud to deliver Autobytel.com's pre-owned listings to Yahoo! Autos users. This agreement furthers our goal of providing consumers with a central location where they can conveniently research, buy, sell or find information to maintain their vehicle," said Susan Carls, senior producer, Yahoo! Autos. "Together, we can provide even more extensive listings to consumers, making it easier for them to quickly find and buy a car." Through the agreement, Yahoo! Autos shoppers will have easy access to Autobytel.com's digital images of the actual pre-owned vehicles as they appear, taking the guesswork out of used car shopping. Each car or truck will pass a rigorous, 135-point certification program, designed to protect consumers, and will be backed by a 3 month/3,000 mile limited warranty, a 72-hour money- back return policy and a nationwide travel repair program.
Autobytel.com is paid additional subscription fees from dealers participating in the Certified Pre-Owned CyberStore program. The CyberStore is available to both its Network of Accredited Dealers as well as other dealers throughout North America who can meet Autobytel.com's stringent quality requirements for all listings. In April of 1999, Autobytel.com logged well over 2 million searches for pre-owned vehicles. In addition to today's news, Autobytel.com recently announced that its purchase requests to its Accredited Dealer Network are currently resulting in over $1 million an hour of vehicle sales. The Company also offers consumers numerous auto-related services such as financing, insurance and maintenance programs for which it receives fees from partners and dealers.
