New York sets the pace.
For more than a hundred years, the big and glorious celebration of American culture and progress
has driven up to Gotham and put the final touches on a yearâs worth of auto show news. Past years
have featured such landmark vehicle debuts as the Toyota Prius, the concept version of the
Chrysler 300C and the Infiniti G35, to name just three.

And this year is no different. A number of significant vehicles will roll out onto the Jacob
Javits Show floor next month, and while automakers are tight-lipped about their plans, Autobytel has a pretty good idea of what the public can expect during the first week of April at the New York International Auto Show. Notable introductions include a Lincoln mid-size sedan based on Mazda6 platform, the production Escape hybrid and a Mustang racing concept GTR-40.
The Cadillac STS and Saab 9-7x may also be debuted, as will a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Acura will likely introduce the new RL, and Land Rover should offer a new Discovery â while Volvo will show âYour Concept Carâ, a concept vehicle built by a team made up entirely of women. Nissan may well show the new Xterra. The Xterra is a very notable vehicle for Nissan, as some would argue that it was the first vehicle to begin Nissanâs re-emergence. Nissan will also debut the much needed new Infiniti M45. Lexus may debut a concept that will become the IS, and there may be an LX debut and news about the LS. Mazda may finally show the new Miata, or, failing that, will show its Flexa concept from Geneva. Suzuki may show off a MINI-like vehicle -- called the Swift -- and built off the Aveo platform. Kia will also debut a five-door version of the Spectra.
