Description: Overall Rating: Comfort Rating: Performance Rating: Quality Rating: Appearance Rating: Favorite Feature: 222 hp V-6 Engine Least Favorite Feature: Interior color choices are limited based on exterior color (would have liked for them to be independent of one another) Advice to Buyer: Get one early or wait until the end of the 2000 model year - these are going to go up in price. Detailed Review: The just shipped 2000 Nissan Maxima GLE is by far the smoothest riding and fastest moving sedan in its class. A boosted engine (from the 1999 190hp V6 to the 2000 222hp V6) and standard ABS (anti-lock brakes) are a welcomed sight in this model. After driving other vehicles in this class (Honda Accord EX, Toyota Camry XLE), I was sold after hitting the accelerator the first time in the 2000 Maxima. Nissan's California-based design team thought of everything in the 2000 Maxima. Gone is the electric retracting antenna (replaced by a rear window antenna) and added is a full pass-through area from the back seat to the trunk. The GLE model comes loaded with few other options available. The power driver's seat is adjustable to suit any sized driver and thanks to the increased interior size of the 2000 Maxima, three six footers could easily relax in the rear seat. And like the 1999 model, the Bose sound system will give you that concert quality sound every time! If you are in the market for a zippy, luxury, family sedan, this is definitely the car you need to drive. Quieter than an Accord and just plain better than a Camry, the 2000 Maxima is a must see.
