Description: Irvine, CA – January 27, 1998 – Autobytel.com, the premier online car-buying program, enters its third year with a seasoned interactive marketing professional at the helm of its marketing department. Anne Benvenuto comes to Autobytel.com with over 20 years of extensive marketing and media experience behind her, including a three-year stint developing Autobytel.com’s strategic new media plan while serving as Senior Vice President of TBS Technology-Enabled Marketing, the full-service interactive agency, which is a subsidiary of TBS Media Management in New York. "Anne is a proven leader in the field of interactive marketing communications, and, as witnessed by her impressive involvement with Autobytel.com’s development, she was among the first to believe in this medium," said Pete Ellis, President and CEO of Autobytel.com. "Anne has been instrumental in branding Autobytel.com as the place to buy and sell cars online in the United States and Canada. As Autobytel.com begins to expand internationally, we look forward to more of the same." "Autobytel.com is an incredible company, one that is truly making Internet history," said Benvenuto of her decision to dedicate herself full-time to Autobytel.com. "It’s refreshing to work for a customer-focused company, one that offers a positive solution to the traditionally painful car-buying experience. I look forward to furthering Autobytel.com’s brand awareness while increasing its already impressive sales," concludes Benvenuto. At TBS, Benvenuto helped build an independent Internet agency. The client base she developed in this venture included categories such as high-tech, financial institutions (including Chase Manhattan Bank), leading telecommunications providers (including Ameritech Corporation), and various retail and entertainment categories. Prior to her employment with TBS Media Management, Benvenuto worked in a direct marketing agency as well as within various Television and Radio divisions at CBS, Incorporated in New York. Benvenuto was among the first participants to contribute to interactive research, case studies, and committees and panels, including the New York New Media Association, the Cable Advertising Bureau and the Advertising Research Foundation, to name a few.
