Volvo thinks they've got it with the new XC90, another new entrant to the crowded luxury/mid-sized SUV race. They may be on to something with that safety angle. The XC90 offers a few advancements, such as a lower cross-bar added to the front subframe, and placed at the height of the beam in a regular passenger car. Indded, this should result in safer operation, inside the XC90 and out -- should you ever get hit by an XC90.
