Description: Irvine, CA-December 18, 2001-- Autobytel Inc. (Nasdaq: ABTL), the diversified automotive marketing services company, has been issued a patent entitled "Real Time Communication of Purchase Requests" by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Patent No. 6,282,517 is directed toward an innovative method and system for forming and submitting Purchase Requests over the Internet and other computer networks. The method permits suppliers of goods or services to provide enhanced customer service by making the purchasing process convenient and enjoyable for consumers as well as suppliers. The patent is also directed toward the communication system used to bring consumers and suppliers closer together. By improving communication, Autobytel's proprietary technology attracts both consumers and suppliers to use Autobytel's services and improve the entire purchasing process. |
