Description: Cadillac CTS: Just may be the first American entry-level luxury sedan to compete with the Lexus ES 300 and the BMW 3 Series. Video review... !--> xxx A 2003 model scheduled to go on sale in January 2002, the Cadillac CTS will replace the current Catera and, Cadillac hopes, will be the first American entry-level luxury sedan to be serious competition to imports such as the Lexus ES 300 and the BMW 3 Series. Distinctive in its styling with vertical head and tail lamps and a new interpretation of the classic Cadillac eggcrate grille, the CTS represents the first ground-up design since Cadillac's new strategy for the fusion of "Art and Science." With a re-engineered version of the 3.0-liter V6 in the current Catera, the 220 horsepower 3.2-liter V6 with a five-speed Getrag manual transmission CTS is projected to travel 0-60 mph in under seven seconds. The interior mixes leather and wood with hi-tech gadgetry, such as a "mouse button" on the steering wheel to control the infotainment system and four steering-wheel-mounted buttons that can be programmed to do anything the driver desires, such as changing the radio station to turning off the traction control.
