Description: Overall Rating: Comfort Rating: Performance Rating: Quality Rating: Appearance Rating: Favorite Feature: The car is great for zipping around town. It is very cheap on gas and it is a tight handling car. I also liked the reasonably comfortable ride it gives on short trips of 50 miles or less. Placement of instrument panel is good. Least Favorite Feature: The ride on a long trip was more tiring than it should of been. The road noise gets to you after a while. It has no rear leg room for passengers and it scraped bottom with four average size people sitting in it. Advice to Buyer: I reccomend this car to anyone. It is a great little car. In fact my daughter just purchased a 1998. She however got the manual transmission and it sounds like a little race car on a track. Get the automatic. Detailed Review: This Corolla is our second one. We lease them on three year contracts. The first one, a 1993 Corolla needed nothing but oil every 3,000 miles. That was all we ever had to do to it. It was an automatic with a 4 cylinder engine. The engine is a bit strained on hills but other than that it was very peppy. Now we have a 1997 Corolla LE and the problem was the airbag recall, and a noisy squekee noise in the front suspension area. My mechanic called it the 1997 noise for Corollas. The side windows allow the wind to whisle past your ear as you drive highspeed. I didn't like this. I considered this car to be noisier than the 1993. I plan to move up to a basic Camry at the end of this lease term. Quite a bit more room and not much more money.
