Description: Overall Rating: Comfort Rating: Performance Rating: Quality Rating: Appearance Rating: Favorite Feature: The VG (six cylinder) engine consistently rates as one of the '10 best' engines available. Least Favorite Feature: Give up on the cheap looking accent striping (dealer can remove it on request). Advice to Buyer: Drive all other small trucks first! Detailed Review: Nissan has maintained a clean, classic look in its redesign of the Frontier. The company clearly spent its design budget on rugged engine and drivetrain components. The truck has a solid, dependable feel even under demanding off-road driving conditions. Its nice to know that one company still builds a no-nonsense, solidly constructed small truck which is obviously built for the long-haul in terms of dependability. Other automakers are becoming too 'cutsie' and especially cost conscious with their offerings. Hats off to Nissan for not abandoning the original target customers of small truck buyers. (P.S. I can't wait to get my hands on Nissan's new Frontier-based Sport-Utility vehicle which will be named Xterra.)
