The 245 horsepower engine delivers 345 pound-feet of torque, sports car acceleration, broad smiles from the driver
- 1998 Mitsubishi Galant ES: Sensible Style - The 1998 Mitsubishi Galant ES four-door sedan could very well be called the 'middle' Mitsubishi. It's a mid-sized sedan, it's the middle model of the Galant lineup (DE, ES, LS), it's larger than the Mitsubishi Mirage and smaller than the Diamante

Description: What if they built a car and no one came? People decry the proliferation of single-occupant, mammoth vehicles clogging our freeways and guzzling gas, but they're not rushing out to buy Suzuki's super-compact X-90. This two passenger, mini sport-utility is an excellent around-town vehicle. You can park it almost anywhere. The X-90 has a big trunk with great access. The interior comfortably accommodates people in the 6'4" range. The X-90 is big on the inside and small on the outside. The 95 horsepower 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine is amazingly peppy if you don't mind winding it up close to the 6,500 rpm redline. The five-speed transmission is like slicing through frozen butter with a dull knife (get the automatic). The ride is a little choppy, but the short wheelbase (86.6 inches) and minimal overhang are big pluses off-road. The X-90 is an excellent sunny day vehicle with its easily removable glass T-tops. Our biggest complaint was the lame-o, supreme-o stereo with its micro controls and sub-micro sound. The cup holders also qualify as 'micro.' The interior desperately needs some storage bins. The X-90 would be perfect for towing behind a motorhome. In short: the Suzuki X-90 is a fun, but overlooked vehicle. |
