Description: Introduced in 1990 as a truly affordable sports coupe, the Eagle Talon staked its place in the automotive history books as being one of the most complete and competent sport coupes in the industry. "As we move into 1998, the Eagle Talon continues to deliver a tremendous amount of fun-to-drive excitement with distinctive styling and affordability," says Joe Veltri, Talon Planning Executive. "From the thrilling acceleration and rail-like handling of the All-Wheel-Drive Eagle Talon TSi to the affordable base and ESi models, Talon has an established following." With its thoroughly revised appearance last year - which included new front and rear fascias, distinctive badging and a rear spoiler, Eagle Talon receives minor interior enhancements for 1998. Inside, all Talons have new interior fabrics, as well as an enhanced black and gray color scheme. The Talon ESi also picks up the availability of a new four-speaker AM/FM-stereo with an integrated cassette and CD player. This is in addition to a long list of standard and available power features, including an optional moonroof. Functionally, the Eagle Talon has a wide variety of engine and transmission combinations to suit its diverse demographics. The Talon and Talon ESi models are available with a standard Chrysler-built 2.0-liter, DOHC 140 horsepower four-cylinder engine, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. A Chrysler-built electronic four-speed transmission is optional. The Talon TSi and TSi AWD have a 2.0-liter DOHC turbo-charged four-cylinder that delivers 210 hp. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, with a Chrysler-built electronic four-speed automatic offered as an option. All Eagle Talons maximize performance through a multi-link, fully independent front and rear suspension, speed-sensitive steering and available anti-lock brakes. |
